Aaron Lennon Tottenham
His ability has made him popular with Tottenham's supporters, searing pace and control regarded by many as key assets. On 28 March 2006 he signed a contract extension with Spurs lasting until 2010.
He was nominated by fellow Premiership players for the PFA Young Player of the Year for the 2005-06 season. The award was ultimately awarded to Manchester United's Wayne Rooney.
Lennon was one of ten Spurs squad members to be struck down by an alleged outbreak of food poisoning on the evening of 6 May 2006 before their crucial final game of the season against West Ham United.
Middlesbrough declared their interest in signing Lennon on Saturday 26th August 2006, possibly as a retort to Tottenham's persistent 'derisory' offers for their own winger Stewart Downing.
